WPI was founded in 1977 under a different name, PMP.  The original founders, Gasper Palazzolo, Dan Panter and Don McDonald, built the Noble Road Plant in 1977 and later the Progress Court Plant in 1985.  The company was sold to Manchester Plastics in 1988 for strategic growth reasons.  Manchester Plastics was purchased by Collins and Aikman in 1992 and the Noble Road and Progress Court Plants tagged along with the acquisition to Collins and Aikman.

In 2006, the current three principal owners, Frank Remesch, Aashir Patel, and Nigam Tripathi, formed a corporation, Williamston Products, Inc., with the sole intent to acquire the Noble Road and Progress Court facilities.  The name was chosen from the rich-in-culture-and-tradition Williamston, Michigan, in which the Noble Road and Progress Court Plants are located.

In April 2007, the acquisition was complete and all employees were retained by WPI.  Since that acquisition, WPI has grown in revenue and size.  On June 1, 2008, WPI acquired the assets of DBM Technologies on Delaney Road in Owosso, Michigan.  That acquisition grew WPI’s vertical integration footprint and also its manufacturing floor space.  In January 2009, WPI acquired May & Scofield De Mexico.  This acquisition enables WPI to utilize the strengths and synergies of the Mexican labor force coupled with a larger footprint geographically.

Since April 2007, WPI has had steady growth.  Engineering and manufacturing excellence is a core competency of WPI.  WPI’s workforce, however, is the pillar of its strength which, long-term, will provide the value and results needed in the ever-changing competitive automotive supply environment.
